The City of Rock Hill and the Rock Hill Economic Development Corporation have launched an exciting effort to draw retail and restaurant development to the downtown area.  In-depth research indicates to the downtown market is strong, providing a solid environment for restaurants and retail operations.  Based on successful similar program models, the City of Rock Hill and Rock Hill Economic Development Corporation have developed a program that combines new financial incentives with affordable, available storefront properties to boost the downtown business environment, providing additional options for shopping and dining.

There are a number of affordable spaces available for lease in downtown Rock Hill. While annual lease rates in many other retail locations in and around Rock Hill run more than $20.00 per square foot, downtown retail space is available for about half that cost.

Ongoing Incentives 

• Facade Rehabilitation Grant Program: Matching funds (25% of the eligible cost) are available for facade rehabilitation on eligible buildings located in downtown Rock Hill.
• Jumpstart Main Street Grant Program: Offers assistance with marketing and advertising expenses on a 50/50 matching basis.
