The Applied Technology Center offers a variety of career and technical high school courses, designed specifically to prepare students for success in college, technical/specialty school, or the workforce. ATC courses provide students the opportunity to use academic skills in a project-based, hands-on learning environment.

• Students who successfully complete two years of a program may earn a certificate of completion
• Level I courses are one (1) credit introductory courses. Level II courses may be one or two credits courses.
• Some courses may offer the opportunity for Early College (the ability to earn both high school and college credit.)
• Early College students may be required to pay fees for tuition/ textbooks and/or supplied necessary for the class.
• Students may qualify to participate in a work-based Cooperative Learning education experience.
• The Computer Literacy graduation requirement may be satisfied by designated ATC courses.
• Registration priority for Level I is given to juniors.

Winthrop University, founded in 1886, is a coeducational, comprehensive teaching university located in Rock Hill. Winthrop, with a student body of over 4,712 students, offers an array of undergraduate and graduate programs.

Winthrop University continues its streak near the top of the South's public regional universities that convey bachelors and masters degrees in the 2024 U.S. News & World Report's edition of "America's Best Colleges."

Ranking fifth among Southern public universities, Winthrop also was recognized again as being among the Best Colleges for Veterans.

Winthrop University is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award bachelors, masters and specialist degrees.  A total of 41 undergraduate and 25 graduate degree programs are available in the College of Arts and Sciences, the College of Business Administration, the Richard W. Riley College of Education and the College of Visual and Performing Arts.  Within the four colleges more than 80 undergraduate and 40 graduate programs of study are offered through concentrations and options.

York Technical College, located in Rock Hill, has a current enrollment of approximately 8,000 day and evening students and is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.  The college provides comprehensive technical training to meet the labor needs of local and new industries as well as offering special programs to train employees for new industries locating in South Carolina.

Clinton College is a private two-year coeducational college sponsored by the AME Zion Church and is located in Rock Hill. This historically black, private school was founded in 1894 and has long focused on providing a liberal arts education. The school began offering four-year programs in 2013, and now its degree programs include a bachelor of arts in religious studies, and a bachelor of science in business administration.

Piedmont Medical Center's goal is to bring care that is increasingly comprehensive, accessible, efficient and cost effective to people living in York, Chester and Lancaster counties.

Atrium Health has more than 900 locations throughout the Carolinas and includes more than 7,500 licensed beds. Consistently rated among the top healthcare systems in the nation, Atrium employs almost 60,000 people and has close to 12 million patient interactions each year. The main hospital campus for CHS is just outside uptown Charlotte – which is only a short drive for most residents.

Centrally located in historic Old Town Rock Hill, the Arts Council of York County, founded in 1977, has established an arts anchor on two blocks of Main Street. The Center for the Arts, housed in two 100-year-old buildings, is currently home to the Arts Council offices, classroom space, private artist studios and gallery spaces. A couple of the more popular events hosted by the Arts Council are the Annual Blues and Jazz Festival, and the Underexposed Film Festival.

The Gettys Art Center, also one of Rock Hill’s historic buildings, is home to Downtown Artistry, the Rock Hill Pottery Center, Social Design House, and more artist studios, including Friday Arts Project.

Numerous special events are held throughout the year that bring thousands of residents and visitors to the core of Old Town.  Events drawing 200 people all the way up to 50,000, can put customers near to your business. 

Annual award winning festivals such as ChristmasVille and Come See Me, punctuate a year filled with concerts, races, and Food Truck Fridays, among others.

The Culture & Heritage Museums is a family of museums in York County, SC, which includes Historic Brattonsville, the McCelvey Center, the Museum of York County and the Main Street Children's Museum in Old Town Rock Hill. 

Originally opened in 1950, the museum has always included natural and cultural history. It is known for an impressive African animal collection as well as the Settlemyre Planetarium, the museum became repository for the Vernon Grant collection of illustration art by the originator of Snap!® Crackle!® Pop!®, after the artist moved and settled in Rock Hill. 

With an impressive collection and nationally renowned exhibitions, the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art has a mission to share the joy and excellence of the collection so everyone can be inspired, informed and have their cultural and intellectual life enhanced.

Conveniently located in Uptown Charlotte, North Carolina, the NASCAR Hall of Fame is an interactive entertainment attraction honoring the history and heritage of NASCAR. The high-tech venue, designed to educate and entertain race fans and non-fans alike includes artifacts, hands-on exhibits, a 278-person state-of-the-art theater, Hall of Honor, restaurant, NASCAR Hall of Fame Gear Shop and NASCAR Productions-operated broadcast studio.

The 5-acre site also includes a privately developed 19-story office tower and 102,000-square-foot expansion to the Charlotte Convention Center. 

Discovery Place is a great way to spend a day, whether you're by yourself or with a group, young or old. The facility features exhibits on anatomy, physics, natural science, machines, and much more. 

The Mint Museum Uptown Charlotte houses the internationally-renowned Mint Museum of Craft + Design, as well as outstanding collections of American, contemporary, and European art. 

Also located in Charlotte, the Levine Center for the Arts features expansive galleries and a range of visitor amenities, including public spaces for learning, shopping, and dining.

The Afro-American Cultural Center obtains rich and historical exhibits that have become a showcase of African-American heritage. A theater, art gallery and amphitheater are venues for an ever changing, exciting array of culture.

Levine Museum of the New South seeks to relay Southern history from the days after the Civil War. Changing exhibits and complete interaction make the hands-on museum a place where learning and history are both fun and insightful. 

The Freedom Walkway celebrates the striving of the people of Rock Hill and the entire United States of America to achieve the promise of Liberty and Justice for All. At the birth of our nation it was a founding principle that “all men are created equal” and that no person was to be deprived of “life, liberty or property without due process of law.” 

The Freedom Walkway is a place to recognize and celebrate “local heroes” for the cause of greater justice and equality for all citizens. It is not the goal of the walkway to serve merely as a historic monument; rather, it is intended to be a place to inspire and empower future generations to strive for equality and justice in their day and time. 

Rock Hill has a national reputation for producing some of the best football players in the country. More than 20 NFL players have hailed from the city (at a rate of 1 player for every 8,000± people). Rock Hill has produced many first-round NFL draft picks, including Jadeveon Clowney (2014) of the Houston Texans,  Buffalo cornerback Stephon Gilmore (2012) and Minnesota wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson (2013).

Rock Hill is home to a growing cycling scene that has received international attention for its state-of-the-art facilities and programs.

The Rock Hill Velodrome, has a 250-meter track that cyclists use for training and development. The facility is open year-round for cyclists of all ages and provides equipment and instruction.

The City of Rock Hill’s Rock Hill BMX Supercross Track recently hosted the 2017 and 2024 BMX World Championships by Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) For the first time in the U.S. since 2001!

There is much to enjoy in the beautiful outdoors in Rock Hill. Canoe or kayak down the Catawba River, stroll through Glencairn Garden or Fountain Park, or take the family on a bike ride along our extensive trail network.

Experience the Catawba River from your kayak or canoe. The City of Rock Hill also offers a variety of kayak trips and clinics, providing equipment, instruction and transportation.

 The continually growing City of Rock Hill Trails & Greenways system includes trails for walking, running and biking throughout Rock Hill and totals nearly 26 miles.

Fountain Park, located at 300 E. Main Street, features a 90 foot x 70 foot fountain, green space and a stage for featuring outdoor concerts. Fountain Park provides the backdrop for our very popular Food Truck Friday Event.

Glencairn Garden boasts beautifully landscaped lawns and walkways in the heart of Rock Hill and a variety of blooms year round.

Manchester Meadows is a 70 acre park that has quickly captured the interest of park and soccer enthusiasts locally, regionally and nationally with its soccer fields, trails, soccer pavilion, and additional park amenities nestled in a beautifully landscaped setting. Manchester Meadows can be enjoyed year-round and provides athletic programs for both youth and adults. The park also hosts local, regional and national soccer tournaments.

Cherry Park is Rock Hill’s premier softball/ baseball facility nestled in a beautiful 68 acre park with scenic trails, a large playground and numerous park amenities, including concessions. Cherry Park can be enjoyed year-round and provides athletic programs for both youth and adults. The park is also proud to host some of the largest regional, state, and national tournaments in the country.
